At LAWN & LINTEL, we take great satisfaction in getting a job done well.

A picture is worth a thousand words…

Rossmoyne Project 1 - Triple Subdivision New Build

This prominent corner block in Rossmoyne was subdivided into a new build of three townhouses requiring landscaping.

The owner wanted an aesthetically pleasing solution which would work well with the facades of the 3 properties while also preserving the individuality of each.

Given the colour scheme of the properties we opted for reconstituted limestone garden edging to complement the sandy overtones with a selection of Pittosporum hedging and waterwise native Lomandra to screen between the properties and also provide some privacy in front of the windows.

Soft leaf Sir Walter Buffalo was installed on the council verges and Teddy Bear Magnolia trees placed to reinforce the hedge boundaries between each townhouse.

For ease of maintenance and practicality, the side of each property had concrete slabs and blue metal walkways to provide access with a cost effective zero maintenance solution.

A crisp and modern approach to the landscaping really highlighted the carefully selected exterior colour palette which the owner tastefully selected, maintaining unity within the three properties while also retaining the individuality of each home.

In the words of our client:

“The service was excellent and to a very high standard with great communication and demonstration of skills and knowledge throughout the process.

You transformed our project into beautiful homes. We absolutely love the end result, it’s much better than what we had in mind to begin with.”

Rossmoyne Project 2 - Renovated Landscaping of worn out front gardens

A newly purchased property with a diamond in the rough garden waiting to be transformed.

The client had some very specific requests as to the aesthetics which were quite unique, and our landscape architect worked in close collaboration to ensure that the 3D rendered design would give the result exactly as the owner envisioned.

This is by far the most eye-catching property on the street with the well proportioned modern house accentuated with features such as topiaries, tiered garden beds with curved merbau slats on top of reconstituted limestone planters as per the requested design, a vigorous and vibrant kikuyu lawn for full sun exposure.

Roses in iceberg white and brilliantly red Satchmo adorn the side in a curved garden bed with a Tiny Trev lilly pilly hedge designed to conveniently conceal reticulation box lids in the former lawn.

Mango, cherry, and nectarine planted alongside the driveway will provide both shade and a healthy drive-thru snack in future.

Concentric circles of corten steel with snowstone pebbles highlight an explosion of colour with perennial limoneum and annual cockcomb flowers surrounding a central water feature.

Waterwise lomandras provide geometry and structure in front of the house window and also surround terracotta pots housing Moses in the Cradle providing interest to the walk to the front door.

Applecross Project 3 - Installing a new lawn

A client presented with a very sickly lawn which was the aftermath of an African lawn beetle infestation and also a poor soil profile.

We tested for lawn beetle with soapy water and found it was swarming and required multiple treatments with lawn beetle killer.

After this we used kikuyu as the best suited grass for the full sun this lawn experienced with a deep soil improvement to enhance the ability of the soil to hold water and nutrients.

The lawn has never been better.

While we typically take on larger projects, this is an example of how we are often able to fit smaller jobs into our schedule too.

Our client says:

“Thanks to Josh and the guys for doing a fantastic job replacing my backyard lawn.

A quick, concise and transparent quote, delivery of a service exactly as outlined and the lawn is in amazing condition.

The team sorted out the issues by improving soil and killing beetles that destroyed my old lawn.

Back yard is refreshed and looking great.”
