Your Journey
Let’s walk you through what to expect as you embark on a journey with us to work together to bring your dreams to reality.
We understand that committing to a big landscaping project can be daunting so we want to make it as clear and simple for a stress free and enjoyable experience where you get to meaningfully contribute and collaborate with us to make things happen!
Here’s a step by step outline of the process to take you from reaching out to us on this website to sitting in your outdoor lounge chair admiring your new garden with family and friends.
Step 1: Inquiry & Information

Don’t be a stranger. Overload us with information. We can handle it.
Get in touch with us!
The best way is to fill out the Inquiry Form on our Contacts page.
Alternatively give us a call or text. We will however at some point in the conversation use our Inquiry Form to capture all the necessary information so that we can handle your inquiry in the most streamlined way so you may as well fill it out.
We will also request for site plans, photos, any pictures of what you want your landscaping to look like, hand sketched diagrams, existing landscape plans, or any measurements or dimensions that you have that could assist us with understanding your landscaping requirements and needs.
If you could also describe what you want to see in the landscaping space to meet your lifestyle needs that would give us a great idea of where to start.
Please be as accurate with your budget as possible. There is nothing worse for both parties than to have to redesign because the design ended up being outside of budget. We would hate to waste your time and ours designing an unrealistic scope of work.
Step 2: In-Person inspection

Let’s meet in person!
If we assess your job to be a small job request that doesn’t require a design (typically under 20K) we will send a technical officer to meet you to make any final measurements required to quote up the job and to get a better idea for any site conditions or specific details that would affect the work and quote. This meeting will typically take 30 minutes to an hour depending on the complexity of the work.
If you require a design for medium to large jobs and have requested a landscape design we will arrange a consultation meeting with our landscape architect to gather any further required information to create the design. For complex or larger jobs, we may also require a meeting with our Chief Technical Officer.
Currently our consultations and quotes are free however our designs will be charged. Paying for the design fee will enable you to use the design with any contractor of your choice. You will receive around one third of the design fee back as a discount off your quote if you accept all aspects of our quote and use our services for the build. Designs require payment prior to the release of our quote. You may also not use a design without paying for the design fee to purchase the right to use our intellectual property. All designs remain the intellectual property of LAWN & LINTEL. If you are interested in a design we will email you a Design Form for more information on our terms and conditions.
Step 3: Quote & Estimation

The most transparent and clear quotes and client focussed policy to be found anywhere in the world!
After our inspection (if required) we will email you a quote with a very clear break down of task, stages of work, labour costs, material costs, estimated schedule, and payment schedules.
All our clients have told us that our quotes are the most detailed quotes they have ever seen. This is also because our quotes double up as Work Breakdown Structures for our team to follow. You get the benefit of a logical step by step flow on what gets done and also how much each element of the landscaping will cost.
Our quotes are a cost plus with a twist: They are capped like a fixed price quote, however they are variable in your favour if there was any overestimation and if we can do the job for less. This is a sometimes less, never more arrangement which means the onus is on us to estimate and quote accurately and for our team to deliver it efficiently. This de-risks you as the client and actually means that most times you get the best of the situation. This is called our “Less than or equal to” quote policy. Adhering to this policy is our commitment to business integrity and customer satisfaction.
Does this policy lose us money? More times than we could possibly count. Yet we continue to uphold to it knowing that we hold forth the most selfless and honest form of contract policy you could ever hope to get. Integrity is doing the right thing even when it hurts us.
Step 4: Accepting our quote

Let’s get the ball rolling!
Have a careful read of our quote. Ask any questions you wish. Our quotes stay live for 6 months after which they may require to be revised. Make sure your read and understand our terms and conditions outlined in the client agreement form. We take written approval by email or text or any material deposit payment to be legally valid and binding forms of acceptance of our quote. We are simple folk and want to make the process as simple as possible too. We aren’t out to get you with loopholes but need to play fair and square too and have made out T&Cs as simple and straightforward as we can. We won’t get you to sign away your kidneys with a 200 page contract.
Step 5: landscape construction

Let’s get the ball rolling!
After you have accepted our quote and paid any material upfront payments required we will organize a start date and commence purchasing materials. Our team will then construct the design and bring your garden to life!
Payment will be upon invoicing in line with our agreed payment schedules.
We will handover the landscaping with a 12 month guarantee on any softscaping (trees, plants, and lawns) if you accept our yearly maintenance plan. All hardscaping comes with a minimum (depending on the material) 1 year warranty for defects or failure under normal reasonable use (we provide a 7 year warranty on fencing and paving).
Step 6: Regular Maintenance

Let’s get the ball rolling!
We don’t believe in hit and run business. We take care of our clients for the long term and are personally invested in the success of our landscaping. It gives us immense satisfaction to watch it grow and mature. This is why we would give a quote on a regular maintenance for our landscaping clients to ensure that every gardening service is also a regular inspection of the health of the garden.
Down the road, when we are assured of the garden’s success we may pass the care of your garden to trusted contractors who we know of and work with, however for the initial year or so we would require the care of your garden especially to ensure that the plants do not fail in the warranty period but will be established healthily.
Generally, our landscaping clients stick with us for gardening services as we treat the gardens like our baby.
We hope this summary of our process gives you a good idea of what to expect and we look forward to working with you to make your landscaping dreams come true!
See you soon!
