Guiding Principles

Our Working Policies: What We Stand For

Our Business Philosophy and Values

Values are to a business what blueprints are to a house: they determine its final outcome. Our work ethic defines how we behave, not unnaturally following a mere code of practice, but spontaneously flowing out in everything that we do.

This is who we are, and this is how we work.

We uphold the highest and fairest work policies that we know of because this is what we believe in and we are utterly committed to our firm convictions.

Delivering Excellence

We believe in upholding the highest level of work ethic and delivering the best we are able to honestly and properly.

If we assess a job to be beyond our capacity, we will not overreach ourselves but will let you know and recommend alternative solutions: we understand and respect our limits.

We believe that our clients should never feel any doubt as to whether they received fair work for a fair wage. Slacking off, poor workmanship, dodgy dealings or being ripped off ought never be the case when you use our services. We guarantee full peace of mind knowing that your money is well spent on high quality services which we will ensure is carried to completion. This is our full assurance guarantee.

Ensuring Safety

We are absolutely committed to our clients’ health and safety as well as our own and Personal Protective Equipment is rigorously adhered to as is working in a safe environment. We will not come to clients if we are sick and likewise will not do any work in the house if a client or resident is sick. If social distancing is maintained, outdoor work may be done as long as access is clear, however it is far safer to simply postpone the booking.

If any risk presents itself we will inform you and deal with it as our duty of care where possible or at least inform you so the issue can be rectified. We are insured with Viz Insurance in public liability for up to 20 million AUD for your assurance and have employee workers’ compensation cover with Allianz.

Genuine Care

At LAWN & LINTEL, we believe in investing in clients and building long term relationships where you will be confident your job is done professionally and excellently.

We truly believe in prioritizing Principles then People over Profit.

Ask us how we have gone the extra mile to ensure that our business delivers. There is not a single instance where we have been ashamed of a business dealing, knowing we have always done the right thing and been open and transparent with our clients.

Our Commitment to You

Keeping Our Word

Customers who ask for quotes can rest assured with our policy that for all things being considered, the final cost of the work will not exceed the final quote unless unforeseeable circumstances require additional materials or labour which could not possibly have been accounted for at the time of estimation. Admittedly, the danger for us is that if we under-estimate, we will lose money from our own pocket and thus our hard quotes will always account for that element of uncertainty. If we finish the job for less than the quote, we will charge less than the quote. This is our “less than or equal to” policy for the benefit of our customers. It is far better to be sure of a higher quote with the possibility of discount than to be unsure of a lower quote with the possibility of a price hike. Put it this way, would you rather an upfront max limit quote for $800 which turns out to be chargeable to only $700 at the end of the project or an unrealistic undercut quote for $400 but it turns out to need another $100 and then another $100, and then another $100 to still end up at $700? We don’t use the scurvy trick of giving the lowest bid in the universe to get our foot in the door only to keep adding expenses once you commit to using our services. Please note that this policy is unique as even in the engineering industry, if a contractor finishes a project for less than they had quoted, they are entitled to simply pocket the overestimation as bonus profit which can be many millions of dollars. Because we care for our clients, we will only take what it took to do the work as we have your best interests at heart.

Doing What's Right

Another instance where we commit to put our clients above our own interests is found in the rare instances when we make errors. We all make mistakes: how we deal with it is another matter. All expenses for materials and labour to correct a mistake we made is covered out of our own pocket: we don’t charge for mistakes. We do what is right by you: we know you will do what is right by us.

We have no control over essential cookies as these are required by the website provider to run. The cookies that we use with this website are simply analytical tools such as which page of this website was the most popular (which tells us what is boring and can be left out or what interests our clients), traffic (to give us an idea of engagement levels and potential contacts being made). We take before and after photos which focus on the work and which make the place of residence as unidentifiable as possible. If you prefer not to have pictures of the work done taken and published in our gallery, we will gladly comply! We would however appreciate the opportunity to showcase our work as photographic evidence is far more compelling proof of good workmanship than our own sweet words.

Thank you for taking the time to find out about our business and we hope that as you engage us you can see how we operate for yourself!

We love a chat and hope to meet you soon.
